Give Timely Written Notice

MY THOUGHTS ON GIVING TIMELY WRITTEN NOTICE OF A CLAIM

By Laurence P. Lubka

I have been involved with many claims where the failure to give timely written notice of a claim invalidates that claim.  That failure can cause you to lose all of your claim rights.  So here are my considered thoughts on the issue of whether you should give timely written notice, in accordance with the contract, of a claim or potential claim.

Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.   Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.  Give timely written notice.

I’ve learned that no matter how many times one gives this advice, it is frequently not followed.  But now you understand.  If you consistently follow this advice, you are one critical step closer to recovering on your claims.
